| Projects > SynCode Ionsquare was contracted by SynCode to develop a mobile application for redirecting phone calls. The goal was to develop an application which would be transparent to the user and at the same would work on as many devices as possible. We conducted the necessary research to determine which of the available mobile platforms provided the features required by the application. Having taken the market where the service was to be deployed into account, we settled on the Symbian Series 60 platform. As part of the project, we designed and developed the application using the C++ programming language. We also specified and implemented a custom protocol which was used by a server application developed by a third party. We worked at a low level with technologies such as TCP/IP and GPRS as we experimented with a number of ways to decrease the redirection delay. In the end, we managed to achieve one fourth of the original delay.
